You did not abandon them in the wilderness.
Nehemiah 9:18-19, 21
Even when they had made for themselves A calf of cast metal And said, ‘This is your god Who brought you up from Egypt,’ And committed great [and contemptible] blasphemies, You, in Your great mercy and compassion, Did not abandon them in the wilderness; The pillar of the cloud did not leave them by day, To lead them in the way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way they should go. Indeed, for forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell.
Even when sin to creep into our lives, You, in Your great mercy and compassion, Did not abandon us in the wilderness.
Even though I let myself get entertained by my distractions instead of spending time with you, You, in Your great mercy and compassion, Did not abandon me in the wilderness.
Indeed, during my valley, You sustained me in the wilderness; I lacked nothing.
The times I feel God is not there, He did not abandon me. The water is still running, there is still food in the fridge. My babies are healthy and safe.
Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Since they’re following me, that means if I stumble and fall, they will be following me to pick me up and get me back on track.
