When is The Rapture?

Will the rapture happen before tribulation? Will it happen after? Or will it happen during the tribulation? Everything we need is in the word of God!

First, what is the rapture? Luke 17 says: I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

The last verse in Luke is talking about what the rapture is. The rapture is when God will take the church out of the world while the world goes through the tribulation. As the verses say, there will be two people but one will be taken. Taken where? Taken how? The last verse says wherever the body is, that’s where the eagles will gather together. The body represents Jesus. Right now, we are the body of Christ but when we go to heaven, we won’t need to be the body of Christ any longer. The eagles are us. Isaiah 40:31 says But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Wherever Jesus is, that’s were will be gathered together during the rapture.

But when will it happen?
Luke 17 says this: And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

As it was in the days of Noah and Lot. In those times, God had regret for making man because they did not serve Him. They did not love Him or seek Him. They did their own thing and loved themselves. Could you imagine your bride wanting nothing to do with you? This is how God felt with mankind. But there were a few people who stuck out to God and found favor with Him. There were a few who didn’t want anything to do with the works of the world. Noah. Noah found grace in the eyes of God and He told him to build an ark because he was going to destroy all of His creation. The whole point is that God took Noah out of the world before destruction came. He got His people to a safe place before the waters came.

Lot and his wife lived in Sodom which was full of sin. Everything you could possibly do morally wrong was being done in Sodom and it made the Lord very sad. Abraham talked to the Lord to convince Him that if there were at least ten righteous people in Sodom that He might spare the whole city. The only righteous person found was Lot. The Lord sent two angels into the city to get Lot and his family out of Sodom and as they were leaving town, Sodom was destroyed.

Revelation 3:10 says Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

The church is God’s bride, He is going to protect us through the tribulation. What bridegroom would want to see their bride go through such terrible events? God will protect His church.

So, God is going to take His church up and then His destruction will come down. At least, this is my interpretation. I know that there are many different views on the subject. I would love to hear your interpretaion!
