Creation is such a beautiful thing. From the way clouds bring rain to cells growing into organisms. The world we live in is so breathtakingly beautiful. But humans have always wondered, why. Why are we here? What is the point of all of this? If you keep reading, maybe you’ll find your answer.

It all started in heaven. Before Earth was created, there was no such thing as time. The bible says in Genesis 1:1, in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. But the bible never says when the angels were made. We can assume that they were made before the heaven and the earth to worship God and to rejoice with God because of verses like Job 38:7, it talks about the sons of God (angels) shouting for joy when the stars sang together after creation. God on the other hand has always been and always will be.

But why does God need angels? For one, He created them to worship Him. Second, many of His angels had different jobs and posistions in heaven (Jude 1:6) for example, we can assume that Michael is an angel of war because every time we hear of him, he is fighting for the Lord. An example of him doing so is in the battle against satan in Revelation 12:7-8. Gabriel is a messenger angel, when we see Gabriel in the bible, he is delivering messages from the Lord (Daniel 8:16, Luke 1:19, Luke 1:26-38). But who is Lucifer? Lucifer was the angel of worship. He had musical pipes built inside of him (Ezekiel 28:13), when it was time to worship, beautiful music of praise and worship came from the pipes inside of him and the angels would begin to worship.

But Lucifer began to see himself as better than everyone else, even better than God and wanted to be worshiped instead of worship God so he sinned and rose up and tried to get other angels to join him and rise against God. I can only imagine how some of the angels must have reacted, I could see them looking at him and say, “Are you crazy?!?” But Lucifer convinced 1/3 of the heaven’s population to join him.

But God knew this was going to happen. He knew that once Lucifer sinned, he would not be able to be redeemed because he sinned in an eternal realm and God didn’t want that to happen to His further creation so He began to make the Earth, something with time and that was not eternal, so if His creation were to sin and rebel, they would still have a chance to be redeemed and spend eternity with God.

This is where heaven and earth come into play. So He began to make all the world, the waters, the land, the birds and animals and fish and then He made man and told him not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17). The bible doesn’t say, but it’s probable that as the world was being created, this is when Lucifer sinned because the bible says God cast him and his angels out of heaven to the earth (Revelation 12:9, Ezekiel 28:18). If Lucifer sinned before creation then where would God have cast him to?

But then God made Eve and Lucifer knew what God had told them. Lucifer looked at man and was furious because he was made in God’s image and likeness and he knew God told them not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and the devil saw his chance to get them to turn from God.

Luckily for Lucifer, his words were just enough to convince Eve to take a bite of the forbidden fruit and cause sin to enter the world. But fortunately, that’s why earth was made, so we could be redeemed, so one day, even though we have sinned, we’ll be able to reign with Christ.
